We had to do this peice of writing from the new bbc Olympic trailer. About brazil animals playing sport and becoming athlets

Jungle Olympics By Holly
As I walk through the rainforest, the sound of nature is around me. Suddenly I hear, the sound of drums.  I follow the sound, I am amazed to see, an ant eater digging in the ground. Eventually finding a vine he then picks it up with his sharp claws.  Tying a rock to the end of the vine. He starts spinning.

The sound of rustling branches, leaves, comes closer and closer towards me. Then out of the bushes jumps a fox with his powerful back legs, he jumps up, over a huge tree branch big and thick enough to hold a human. I wipe my eyes to see if it’s real, it was. The fox does a full air twist and lands perfectly on the crunchy leaves, like snapping a stick.

I walk over to the waterfall and I couldn't believe my eyes, when I saw two big and tall crocodiles standing on the front webbed feet with their hind legs and scaly tails in the air. They stand there for a while then the crocs dive, at exactly the same time doing flips, twisting and turning, in a synchronized manner. I froze. Clouds forming darkens the sky.

A brazil nut rolls slowly towards me I pick it up to find four orangutans running towards me. I hand them the nut they start throwing it in the air and hitting it with the palms of their paws I say to myself, “ Volleyball.”  Above me the sound of swaying vines, a sloth not acting it’s name “lazy” but ready to fight for the gold. Starts swinging back to forth back to forth like a gymnastics bar. It’s amazing.

Speedily a group of jaguars start sprinting toward Rio. My heart starts pumping. “It’s the Olympics.”

Today in maths we have been working on 2D and 3D shapes I chose to make a cube. I had to mark were I wanted to cut the straws then after that I saw how much play dough I had so I evened it out into 8 groups. I put the bottom straws down and started building up to the top. My shape is a polyhedron cube, has 12 vertices/ sides, 8 edges, 6 faces.

Scissors
I see them, standing together with such frightened looks on their faces. Trembling.
They are trapped.  For I am not nice - I am evil.  Then I see a flower all by itself that has not been touched at all. I edge forward destroying everything in my path,  including the flower, that one lonely flower.

I see her face so disgusted  with what I've done. She's angry. Before she darted forward she moved back for a run up,that was my warning. Like lightning she sprinted to me, coming closer and closer. But. I slice her out of my way onto the cold hard ground. Because she is out of my way, her friend runs to her looking like some big old oger. I wouldn't take the chance of him defeating me so I start cutting but nothing is happening to him. We battled until what looked like he was tired, but he was getting ready to fight back. He flew up in the air covering the sun and……

For a few days we have been working on a story called arriving in Kingston
Everyone in my class had to pick a photo from home and bring it to school to write about. Mine was of my family and I in mexico. Enjoy my writing

I have a photograph. It was taken by a member of the crew, on the cruise ship camera, in Mexico in 2011. A photo of us - Mum, Dad, Brianna and me. I am little, about five. There we are standing on the ocean liner, that has just moored in Mexico. We  travelled north by cruise, we each had a comfy bed with chocolate and towel animals on them. In front of us is the parade of people walking around the shops and the beach. Behind us is the ocean, crashing against the side of the boat then drifting back like wood. I feel  like the world around me is sparkling. Gleaming in the sun.

For the past few weeks since our electricity inquiry started we have been doing bus stops
a choice of 8 different actives that we could choose from. I finished all of them  and sent them to Mrs Cameron to put on the walls.
My favorite station was the music, because we each made a song to sing about being safe around electricity
Our choices were

Shine falls

This is a poem that we have been working on, We used adjectives, nouns, verbs each in a sentence
Hope you enjoy

  Shine falls
                                                             By Holly
Woolly sheep graze on the grass covering the damp, earth
Soft leaves fall all over the track, making a leaf river
Flowing water, whistling wind, and singing cicadas are the music of nature
Oily eels slither through the water like a snake
Aged rocks fall off the wall for it is old,
Millions of years maybe,
As the water hits the ground it sounds as if  hundred guns are going off all at different times in history
Bright colours blend with the dark, under the bushy trees
They say in the wind.
